Robin Goodfellow (real name Sam Turner) is a newspaper tipster that selects the Daily Mail racing tips.

Sam’s interest in racing can be traced back to his school days and his first visit to a betting shop. He placed a small bet on a winner ridden by Pat Eddery and quickly became hooked on the sport. He took his first job as a board maker for the local bookie before doing some freelance writing. His first media work was for BBC Ceefax Racing.

Sam began as a Sports Reporter for his local Shropshire Star before a short spell as racing tipster for The Sportsman Newspaper. He made his reputation as a shrewd judge of form as a pundit for Racing UK between 2001 and 2014. Sam also became a regular contributor on William Hill radio and joined the Daily Mail as lead tipster in November 2006. He was crowned top tipster three times in the space of five years between 2009 and 2013 in the National Press Challenge. He further enhanced his reputation when tipping six of the eight winners at Newmarket in April 2014 at accumulative odds of 1,623-1.

He names The Aintree Grand National among his favourite races, inspired by the record-breaking performance of Mr Frisk in 1990. His longest priced winners include Upgrade (33-1) in the Triumph Hurdle and Collier Bay (80-1) to win both the Irish and English Champion Hurdle.
