The leading tipster for the past week was The Inside Edge who tipped eight winners, bringing a profit of £253 and a Return on Investment of 115%. The service started the week by tipping Ripon winners Graceful Act at 8-1 (SP 6-1) and Mulligatawny at 3-1 (SP 5-2). Icario (8-1) kept things moving along nicely at Ballinrobe on Tuesday with Rebel Assault at 7-2 (Musselburgh) and Astronomer at 2-1 (SP 6-4) following up on Wednesday.
The Inside Edge struck again on Thursday with short-priced winners Eirene at 2-1 (SP 11-10) at Chelmsford and Apterix at 2-1 (SP 5-4) at Sedgefield. Friday was the tipster’s only blank day of the week before Oh This Is Us at 9-1 (SP 11-2) rounded off a highly profitable week at Chester.
Declan O’Donoghue was not far behind with a profit of £232 and a ROI of 85%. The Irish racing expert was in top form at Bellewstown on Wednesday with three winners out of four selections, the pick of the bunch being Power Down at 8-1. His followers with Best Odds Guaranteed will have enjoyed a bumper pay-out at Tipperary on Thursday. Declan put subscribers on to Stella D’Oro at 11-2 only for the horse to win at an incredible starting price of 14-1! Best Odds Guaranteed does not apply to our league table but we hope that some of you were on Joseph O’Brien’s colt!
JB Racing Tips finished third in the weekly table with a profit of £150 and a ROI of 44%. He also tipped up Icario but his longest priced winner of the week was 9-1 Bellewstown winner Boot Camp (SP 8-1). Each Way Hits, Quentin Franks Racing and Back Lucrative also cleared over £100 profit during the week.
Value Wins was just behind these in seventh place but it was nearly so much better. Sporting Chance at 9-1 (SP 11-2) started the ball rolling at Ripon on Monday. Value Wins picked out the well-backed Ventura Gold at 4-1 at Lingfield (SP 9-4) and Vivant at 7-1 at Worcester (SP 7-2) on Tuesday.
How Bizarre at Musselburgh on Wednesday and Regulation at Newton Abbot on Saturday both finished second after being cut drastically in price. How Bizarre was tipped at 6-1 and returned 11-4 while Regulation’s price collapsed from 14-1 to 6-1. That pattern was typical of Value Wins who consistently beats the book with his early price selections.
Poyle George Two (16-1 into 7-2), Kommander Kirkup (25-1 into 7-1) and Royals and Rebels (16-1 into 4-1) were all significant market movers. Only Poyle George Two made the frame, finishing third in a Southwell novice for Ralph Beckett. The Sepoy gelding certainly left the form of his debut run at Windsor well behind.
Royals and Rebels was an inspired selection at Fontwell Park having failed to complete in his last three races for Charlie Mann. Value Wins had possibly latched on to the fact that the gelding shows his best form after a break and it had been six weeks since he pulled up at Newton Abbot. Unfortunately Royals and Rebels had not read the script and came home in fifth place.
Finally a word for The Secret Handicapper who enjoyed a fantastic end to the week on Saturday with 4 winners from 10 tips. He picked Dubai Horizon at 10-1 (SP 7-1) at Sandown, Pepys at 8-1 (SP 9-2) at Beverley, Fool For You at 8-1 (SP 17-2) at Wolverhampton and Billy Dylan at 7-1 (SP 6-1) at Chester. That lot helped his followers to a massive 37 point profit on the day to advised stakes!
